No guard of honour, by the way.

He wouldn't fit through one.

That doesn't surprise me.

Let me remind you: you suggested that I was naive because I refused to buy into your improbable logic.  You dug yourself a deeper hole by having an irrelevant dig at Abramovich.

Look, I accept that you are a typical biased football fan that just wants to score cheap points but in your rush to judgement you've not understood the situation.

You might want to let this go rather than embarrass yourself any further but it's up to you to keep digging if you want.

He doesn't really deserve one after the farcical way in which he surrendered the England job not long into the season. Yes, he did a decent job at Palace and kept them up, but his reputation will forever be somewhat tainted by what happened during his two-month stint as England boss.

Mmmm. I suspect by replying 'I cannot be bothered with this...' you will further write another self gratuitous reply of pure waffle. I suspect, like the odious Terry himself, you wont be happy till you have a guard of honour either.

For the sake of the thread, I shall refrain further as my time is better spent elsewhere.

Good luck next season, you deserved to be champions.

Well, the first piece of good news this summer for Spurs fans - Zaha has extended his contract with Palace.

Golden rule. If you want to win the Cup, it's best not to cheat (most of the time).

Thankfully, today, cheating wasn't rewarded.

I have no idea what he was doing and completely out of character.

Chelsea didn't really perform; disappointing but good to see Wenger redeem a disappointing season with a trophy.

It'll be interesting to see what, if any, influence last night's result for Arsenal has on what Wenger decides to do wrt his future.

LVG at Man Utd last season was in a similar position to what Wenger is now in. Man Utd won the FA Cup last year, but failed to make the CL places and so ultimately the cup win wasn't enough to save LVG from the sack. Wenger probably has a better chance of surviving as, even though Arsenal didn't make the CL places this season, his record over 20 years as Arsenal boss is pretty impressive, if one takes aside the 9-year trophy drought they experinced between 2005 and 2014.

Sadly my bet with the bookies that John Terry would be come on as a sub in the 26th minute in a sedan chair flanked by trumpeting cherubs came to nought.

In this crazy age of gambling I'm not remotely surprised that you found a bookie prepared to give you odds on that taking place.

If more players were caught and punished when attempting to con the ref and get an opponent into trouble for something in the way the Chelsea player was last night, I reckon we'd soon see a notable reduction in the amount of simulation that goes on in the game.

LOL! What's funny is that O-C goes to take a swing with his right leg, Moses presumably sees it & dives, but O-C pulls back. It may be that O-C just thought better of sticking a foot in there, but I'd like to see more diving cheats suckered into this.

So we'll all be getting excited about the scintillating football peddled by Huddersfield Town next year!

In their three play off games, they scored a whole one goal - and that was an own goal.

Very organised & efficient for sure, but I don't think that'll be enough in the Prem - although they'll initially be hyped and energised, so better not to face them over their first handful of games.

My partner's son is a Town fan and went to yesterday's match (my partner would have gone but couldn't get a seat next to him).

We agreed that irrespective of yesterday's outcome the winner would probably be the weakest team to get out of the Chumpionsh.it in recent years and that either team would go straight back down.

It's fair to say Wagner and Stam have both done remarkable jobs when it comes to polishing turds.

Presumably you were wanting the opposite result, with you being a native of Reading?

I wasn't happy to say the least. Saying that, I would have supported Huddersfield against any other team in the Chumpionsh.it. Always best to keep the peace.

Always good to see Pi'ers Moron having a meltdown on Twitter.

Also good news for the rest of us, who don't support Arsenal.

All part of the plan. They'll crash out of the Europa League to some Ukrainian minnows and Wenger will say they can 'focus on the top 4', which they'll achieve and all will be forgiven

Liverpool sources reporting that we've pulled out of the race to sign Ryan Sessegnon, as Spurs have all but tied this up. Top prospect. Diappointing that both Walker & Rose seem to be leaving you, though.

Another one-time hot prospect - Dominic Solanki - has joined Liverpool from Chelsea. His advancement's stagnated this last year, but how much of this is to do with his refusal to sign a new Chelsea deal is the question - and Conte in his first season found himself chasing the title so kept a very similar team as much as he could.

Elsewhere, Aubameyang joining PSG for £70m. Very good player, but he's 28 now and a player that heavily relies on speed so that's one big fee.
