Well, what an extraordinary final day.

Sad, really, as they don't deserve to finish below Arsenal.

Dreadful performance in the first half, not quite as dreadful in the second.

Mitrovic should get a lengthy ban for his tackle on Walker; a genuine attempt to break Walker's leg.

The key moment though was when the ref awarded the penalty to Newcastle, allowing them to go 3-1 up. As soft penalties go it was at the very softest end. i.e there was no contact and Sissoko dived. He should get a lengthy ban too, except there is nothing that can be done about that.

Yes from what I've heard Mitrovic's tackle was a leg-breaker. Just as bad for him to go mouthing off when leaving the pitch. I'll be watching MOTD tonight to see the pen incident. From what I've heard it was a clear dive but the ref vision wasn't clear (another reason why he shouldn't give it).

In terms of the new manager, they're currently arguing amongst themselves stuff like whether they'd actually want Mourinho as their manager. Or whether Pellegrini is the man to take them to the top. Or if Koeman could reproduce at a bigger club.

I personally think Tim Sherwood would be a good fit.

Lol, and Liverpool obviously don't 😜

But what a sh*thouse stunt to leak this at the moment LVG (who, despite managing Scum-U, is a decent person by all accounts) gets some glory for his team.

Word is that it's Maureen's 'camp' who've leaked the news. Typical of the c**t.

Given it's been widely reported that Bobby Charlton (a genuine gentleman of the game) has been dead against his appointment, and even Ol' Baconface was cold of the prospect, it smacks of desperation. I mean, City get the most in-demand manager in the world, Chelsea get Conte, Pochettino is blossoming into a top class manager, and Liverpool have Klopp. I smell panic.

If true its a decision Man Utd,in a years time will bitterly regret! As Saint says, its a panic move, desperation instead of patience.

Just sums up what little class JM and his agent have and what a gutter rag the BBC have become.

Shows what a waste of time the FA Cup is. Arsenal fans know that already.

Why does it show that?

I think it still means an awful lot. Certainly does to the fans and players.

I'm not sure that it does show that. I think it is LVG's failure to qualify for the Champions League that proved to be the final straw. The FA Cup is neither here nor there by comparison. It's still a big draw and of great importance.

Just less great than the Champions League, understandably.

Could be old age on my part. Just doesn't seem to be the big event it was back in the late 70s and 80s. The Arsenal vs Man U 79?) was massive.

IIRC it was Man Utd's failure to reach the CL places two years ago that ultimately saw David Moyes out of the door at Old Trafford, although at the time he was dismissed they still had a chance of making the Europa League places as they have done this season.

I'm afraid that as far as the CL is concerned, it is now nothing more than a hugely over-inflated cash cow. I'm not even sure I'll watch the final next Saturday night.
