I'd say they've been shocking. Carrick, who never had much pace in the first place, is reduced nowadays to the speed of a three legged donkey.

They need to be very wary of 'going for it' straight away - Chelsea will come out of the blocks strong and motivated, so Spurs will need to soak that up before playing their game. They're solid enough to cope with the initial onslaught but will they have the creativity and understanding up front without Alli?
