Mardrid and Barca should be heavily fined for their conduct during the game last night the constant harrasment of the referee and the chaotic scenes at half time and full time should be looked at by the governing bodies. But however we know that if this had happened between english sides the book would be thrown..Spanish sides probbaly just a quiet word regarding conduct.

The game last night was between the artisans of Barca and the spoilers of Madrid....game was spoilt by the fouls, over reactions and constant niggling. Madrid tried to stop Barca playing their football.....it worked to a point but then Messi stood above everyone with his 2 goals.

The special one....well he has made Madrid into a physical side (like he did with chelsea), i dont think Jose will be having an extended stay in Madrid. On yesterdays performance the team is a poor shadow of former Madrid teams.

I agree. Unfortuntately with UEFA, it seems to my mind to be very much a case of it depending on who you are and what you are when it comes to disciplinary issues. They always hammer teams from the smaller, less powerful countries, but are too scared to do the same with those from the big countries.

Yep, it still rankles with me that all English clubs were banned for five years because of Heysel. That's why I have such a hatred of UEFA and everything it stands for.

Aye, trouble started by Italian fans, who - true to national traits - ran off when the people they were pelting with stones and other missiles, snarled back at them. Crap Belgian workmanship did the rest.

Not trying to excuse the behavoir of Liverpool fans, but they were villified as the only reason for the tragedy. Even after the horrific events had unfolded, there was still footage of Juve fans charging at Liverpool fans and throwing stuff - including what looks like a scaffold pole - into the Liverpool fans.

Fans of teams from other countries have, on several occassions, been murdered by the softarse 'Ultra' fans in Italy when attending European games. On many other occassions, visiting fans in Italy have been subjected to a concerted assault by missiles thrown by scum Italians. The Italian police take no notice - until, that is, the visiting fans start returning the missiles at the Italian scumbags, then it's time for head-splitting with the batons.

Indeed. And I don't remember much being done about Galatasaray - I suppose on the basis that it's OK to murder rival fans so long as it isn't in the stadium.

Regarding Heysel, the one image that sticks with me is the Juve ultra who picked up one of the corner flags in order to use it as a spear.

What a disgusting, vomit inducing, cheating side Barca are. I never thought I'd say this, but I hope Man Utd absolutely smash them in the final.

SAF seemingly ringing the changes tonight to keep players fresh for the Chelsea game. Bit of a risk in CL semi !!

Typical of modern day football IMO. Ever since Klinsmann's antics in the W Germany v Argentina World Cup final in 1990 it's been downhill all the way in this respect. Problem is, it's now reached such proportions that it's destroying the game.

Watched the match - apart from one excellent goal, Barca were mediocre. As for the referee - he should be disqualified from ever officiating again - Real Madrid's first goal was a good one - there was no foul - the game could have turned out entirely differently if that goal had been given.

Hope Man. Utd make it through and beat Barca in the final.

I do think that Barca are starting to suffer a backlash from some quarters based in the antics of their players. However I just can't see how Man United can win. Hope they do though

SAF obviously has the benefit of watching the guys in training and I don't think for one minute he would jeapordise a place in the CL final just to win the Premiership........mind you the team selection will raise just a few eyebrows

Man Utd: Van der Sar, Rafael Da Silva, Smalling, Evans, O'Shea, Gibson, Scholes, Anderson, Valencia, Berbatov, Nani. Subs: Kuszczak, Evra, Owen, Giggs, Hernandez, Vidic, Fletcher
