What an incredible season we've just had..... Just imagining what the stats would look like if winter 2014/15 was as cold as winter 2013/14 was wet!

Even better, if winter 2014/15 was as cold as Dec 2010, but as wet as winter 2013/14.

Now that'd be one to live long in the memory!!!!

Went down to check on our allotment last weekend. Its close to a spring so in wet weather it's often very squelchy. I couldn't believe just how much standing water there was until I noticed it was actually coming up through the ground and running away across the surface. That's going to take a while to dry out.

Force is impotent in such matters; it is only as regards material goods that it is effective. For this reason the men who believe in force are the men whose thoughts and desires are preoccupied with material goods.“ — Bertrand Russell

It's just as well that winter 2012-13 was nowhere near as wet generally as the winter just gone. Imagine how serious the flooding issues would have no doubt been in many parts had it been as wet a year ago, coming of the back of all the dreadful weather we endured during much of 2012, especially that summer!

Would it be cheeky to claim second wettest season by day average, cos autumn has one more day than a non-leap spring?

455.8 / 91 = 5.009 mm per day

453.0 / 90 = 5.033 mm per day
