Have you forgotten how good Trott has become in limited overs cricket?

Interesting finish but I'm still convinced England won't take undue risks. If KP comes off and stays there then they'll keep going for it. If KP and Bell go I reckon they'll stop going for it.

Kevin Pieterson in one-day mode. 15 from the last over, all class strokes.

This is why the Aussies shouldn't have declared. They were highly unlikely to bowl England out in 44 overs but England could win at about 5 runs per over.

KP 50 - 36 balls.

Who was it that couldn't see why he was in the team? LOL

Fantastic innings even if he's out next ball. Quite brilliant.

Only if KP stays there and only if the Aussies keep bowling badly. Don't forget they can bowl it almost where they like and put the fielders anywhere without restriction.

According to TMS Pieterson has scored the fastest 50 in Ashes test match history.

Second fastest I think. Might be fastest by Englishman I think they said.

Yes, fastest by an Englishman. One ball quicker than Matt Prior managed.

Does this Test have to finish tonight regardless of what happens? I know it's in its fifth day but they lost virtually a whole day yesterday to the weather plus a good deal of Thursday as well.

Yes it ends this evening. Generous declaration by the Aussies has set up an unexpected finish.
Pietersen OUT! It's not over yet.

Think this will fizzle to a draw now. Great fun while it lasted.
