Bucking the idea of my failed LRF I am going to go for an extremely disappointing August for the umpteenth year in a row. Cold and wet with CET of 14.8 please......
And hope I am way out.

I think we've learnt that basing your monthly predictions on what the weather at the end of the previous month was like, or what the models are showing for the first few days, is really not a smart idea.. but people don't learn.

I'm not part of the yearly competition but I'm going for 16.5C, continuing the theme of near-average months in 2015. I don't see where people are getting the idea that August will be notably cool from.

16c for me please.

My view is the same as that of Leeds Lad and my guess is based on nothing more than gut instinct.  I don't go for pattern matching and I don't take LRF's seriously, or any forecast beyond five days for that matter.  I think it will be an average month.

16.4C a notable North/South split once again. A wet, humid and thundery month as southern areas will often be close to Spanish plumes.
