There has been a fresh cover of snow quite widely over the higher hills in the last couple of days.
The snow patches at Creag Meagaidh and Carn Na Caim are still there though Geall Charn has gone in the warm end to last week.
Some doubt as to the exact snow level in the next couple of days but with heavy precipitiation forecast if it is mostly snow at high levels there should be a good covering at least on the tops by the weekend. It could be pretty marginal though and a snow to rain event even on the tops.
Cairngorm still below freezing at the top but Aonach Mor up to 3.5C so I suspect it has turned to rain in the West by now.
Now up to 1.1C at Cairngorm summit but over 6C at Aonach Mor.
Ptarmigan cam shows bare areas again, but interesting some substantial drifts remaining - suggests the snow patch areas might be well covered too.
I took a trip up the funicular yesterday, quite something to see it virtually snow free up there so late in November.

Fresh snow this morning

I expect this to build reasonably well over the next couple of weeks looking at the current model output.
A decent covering out west too now:http://www.winterhighland.info/cams/glencoe/I expect this to build reasonably well over the next couple of weeks looking at the current model output.

This link shows Braeriach's new snow so the Cairngorms patches are well covered.

The Creag Meagaidh patch has also survived so for the first time since 2000 a patch away from the Cairngorms and Nevis range has made it through despite possibly the warmest year on record.
I am expecting the word blizzard to appear in my mountain forecast tomorrow, for the first time this season

A thaw this morning, but a temporary one at that.

Lots of snow today in the Highlands with Glencoe in the West doing best with around 15 to 18 inches of fresh at altitude and over a foot at carpark level on top of 4-5 inches yesterday. Another foot or so possible midweek. Further East around 6 inches but much drifting.
Glencoe.

Loads of snow still on the Highland hills. Here is a cornice on Meall a Coire Leithe in Perthshire last week.
The back corries today. New snow well down the mountain at Glencoe too.
A foot of fresh snow on Ben Nevis today and more to come. Snow lying down to 650 mtrs asl in places later this afternoon as far South as Perthshire.
