Northern Ireland was the hot spot, 25.5C the max yesterday at Helens Bay.

It this going to be counted for number of 25C days since it in N Ireland?  Today we should see many 25-26C temps under sunny skies and continue to be sunny, dry and settled all this week, just a little cooler tomorrow with full sunshine.   11.2C this morning on the lower reading near grass and 14C over night as the warmer air now here.  Ground almost drying up but not enough to dry up to summer normal dry conditions but should be by tomorrow or Thursday.

27C here so far. It is baking hot out there and I've had to take a break from trimming the grass which is more like a vacuum cleaner sucking up the dust than a lawn mower!

26.8C here. The window cleaner is cleaning the windows. He mentions that the dust is notable. Not surprising, with the building works on the other side of the road and the developers unwilling to use a water bowser to settle it before it blows across. In any case, it's probably illegal to do so with the drought.

A Christmas 'box of goodies' for the local residents affected wouldn't go amiss, but based on the slow house sales and price reductions, I wouldn't be surprised if the company goes bust at the rate things are going.

I'm going to try sloe brandy this year. Thank you, David, for the idea and I think I have enough sloes from a forage yesterday pm.

Plus some sloe gin...

Nudging 27c in a few places . Perhaps the last 27c until next year.

The date record is 27.7c so we might take it .

27.0 at Teddington the highest I’ve seen today. Not quite a date record but pretty good. I think that’s 92 days that have reached 25C this year. Maybe two or three more to come.

St James's Park the hottest today 25c. It would have likely been the hottest quite a few times this summer if it had been available.  Probably would have taken a few records

This thread can be used for another warm spell combined on 29-30th Sept too.  Today should be low 20s here and tomorrow mid 20s follow by cool down for few days and goes up again.  Shame not on 1st October to get 27C here but looking above average to keep the heating off.

It didn't really come up to scratch here. Thick fog over the Downs and in the Weald (clear in Chichester though) followed by patchy cloud from the west resulted in max of 22.7C.

BTW Frittenden doesn't feature in the you-know-whose max temp list; Cavendish at 24.9 C is top.

EDIT - but BBC mentioned Frittenden (at least, 'The Weald') at 27C. Wait for MetO figures tomorrow
