Heard a few low rumbles of thunder here about half an hour ago.

Interesting that both extant warnings mention 1-2cm hail. I'd assume 2cm would be big enough to break windows and dent cars?

EDIT: Apparently it's 3cm to dent cars, TORRO have a handy scale of damage here:

Yes never see them mentioned hail sizes and never happened in this country only pea size to ground pepper pellet sizes.  Sadly after this bog standard rain shower did not freshen up and clear skies now dirty overcast.  The one we had on late May thunderstorm was excellent with sun then overnight severe short storm follow by fresh hot sunny cloudless next day. That what I like to see this way.

Finally thunderstorms to end the drought since 23rd June thunderstorm attempt date.  Became very dark at 7.30am before it started the storms.  I still remember August 1980 was the only time went pitch black never seen again.

It's been grumbling here since around 8:30 then the full show since 9:30 with some very heavy rain, now it's back to faint grumbling but still steadily raining.

Thundering and some lightning non stop, monsoon rain. This area above us doesn’t appear to want to move .

Another storm and this time the rain rate has reached 188.5mm/hr. Now at 28mm for the day and it's still hammering down.

Frequent lightning is flickering to my east from storms over the Suffolk Alps but here in the Cam Valley we are in a hole on the radar trace and no rain since early afternoon.

Are those moving to the Midlands or not?  My brother in Letchworth reported a lot of thunderstorms, seem to be more stronger than this morning because they got warmer sunnier weather to generate storms, here was not strong at 7.30am as there no sun heating over night.  I had my old computer motherboard fried in 1999 ball lightning storm that hit a house next street so the strong currents travel fried it.
