An error? Met Office says 30c

The Met Office did quote Charlwood yesterday as one of the hotspots with 34.7c , but it does look a little high again. Now has 36.4c 

Pershore and Wisley 35c 

Now supposedly 36.5C at the vineyard. Lack of wind really making it do a Charlwood. That’s something like its 3 hottest reading ever.

That's the hottest it's been this late in the year, too.

Just hope they don't fiddle with it and whatever today highest to record is to fully MOVE on not to go back and change the figure like they did in June which was not amusing.  The people in Lingwood will be now worry they will lose their 2026 highest temperature title if some other place to record 38.1C or more today. 

36.9C now here.

I think we have a good chance of getting into the 38s, maybe even 39C is not out of the question.

37.2 Charlwood. Odd to think we've beaten the old 1990 record (subject of much newspaper coverage) twice in a year, yet nobody bats an eyelid!

We've still another hour or two of heating to go... but I suspect 38.5, the Brogdale August record, will be safe for another year.
