They are very correct as if France are in the high 30s to lows 40C hugging to the north coast and we usually take out 3C from them so that seem right to get 37-38C in London while here 35C.   

Though still hot for us here in the SE.   And a secon bite in early august, a lot depends on that developing low.  Could act a heat pump but potentially very wet for Ireland, north west england and scotland

GFS has 31/37/30 here for Tuesday to Thursday, and if it can get into the 30s here (which is likely IMO) then I'm sure areas further inland will be able to too... which should add another three to the tally (out of six required to beat 95). Indeed, with barely any rain from the front across the south today - only a few areas reached the giddy heights of 1mm - it will be even warmer than first thought. (GFS only backed down on the rain here yesterday lunchtime, before then it was confidently showing 2-4mm).

Today also the coolest day at 24.8C which felt cool at those temperatures even the conservatory dropped to cool 37.1c today after many days in the 39-41C range with the latest average now 39.7C for July.  Expecting to see low to mid 30's on Wed before it cool down to mid 20's.  Some hints of warming up again on the 12z ensembles.  

I think many posters lost interest with this interesting hot spell coming up due to not showing 40C or so on the charts which should reduce their high expectations that average heatwave is 32-34C should be exciting for UK.  The last 3 heatwaves saw many posts but this time very little shown.

What causing all this cold and wet weather further nortn as past good summers the north was joined with it but this year had been fully excluded.  I wonder what the outcome if the split did not exist then UK would be experiencing very high temps all the time.

To think that the 2018 scorchio July here had a daily average high of 26.5c, what a cool month that was in comparison.

I think the dry ground and high soil temperatures kept this high.  Mine was cool 24.8C yesterday which was 4C higher than inaccurate app at 21C. Today expect to reach 28C, 31 to 32 tomorrow to mid 30s Wednesday.

Does anyone know better weather app for Apple? It been very poor with very low maxes for here, Nicosia and Death Valley? Samsung was great on my old phone.

GFS had been solid and very realistic outcome with 00z ensembles still showing 16-17c uppers.  If you get 34-35c by the coast then London likely to be 37-38C and midlands 34-35C.  

Not too much sign of that on the GEFS. Mean 850s holding steady around 10C for the weekend. The op run has another brief excursion into the high teens on the 5th-6th but generally it's looking, dare I say it, a bit average from Friday onwards now. Rain spikes are also starting to gather from the 3rd, even in London. I wonder if this thread might be a bit redundant after Wednesday?

AIFS ensembles do have more of a peak up to 13-14C early next week though.

Randomly ECM 12z had 32c,  I think it was an error as it didn't seem right. The BBC use ecm data. Shows how shiit they are that they actually put  it in a forecast. Shocking.

ECM 0Z was also more optimistic of another short heatwave with 30C plus at the surface next Sunday and Monday. Will be interesting to see how this pans out. 

Here are the 2m mean temperatures from yesterday's 12Z. They're usually only a little different (which is why I don't currently include them) to the 2m max / 2m min values. There was clearly something wrong in the pipeline 32C was being shown.
