Looking at the local PWS graph the rise this morning was quite something - from 21.7 at 6.30am to 27.2 at 7.30am! The rate has levelled off now but it's still 31C at 10am.

34.6 at this time of morning is crazy. A shame there are no official stations in the Kent hotspots.

BTW there seems a decent chance of 34C tomorrow as well now, which would make five days in a row of 34C+. I don't think that has ever happened before.

Looking at the satellite there is quite an extensive area of cloud heading into the south which might soon start sending temperatures down. We have flatlined at 31C here for the past 45 mins, breeze has picked up and the cloud is just arriving.

Some pesky illegal clouds now bubbling up in the Channel. 

The cloud I think will be sea fog that's been notable in this part of south Dorset earlier. The sun is out now but it felt great for a time.

The breeze was quite strong too, and driving over Osmington Hill, watching the fog blow across the road was interesting. Which is why I made the Biscay comment.

Additionally, I too ended up with steamy glasses this morning, once I was in the home pc office, but we don't have AC. The downstairs hallway is rather cool, compared to upstairs but the pc room doesn't have curtains, it's a weird window shape so it's pretty toasty at 33c. Thankfully I don't have to spend much time in there. Work is all caught up for now so a bit of chill time in the cool living room until after 15:00 when I can catch up with anything else that's come in since. 

Yes I have ben tracking these, they may be a temp affair. My Iphone app had light clouds from 10:00-11:00

Let's hope so, if we can stay mainly cloud free 38c on the cards somewhere. 

5C warmer than 10:00 yesterday and still increasing at about 2C per hour

could well challenge yesterday's record if the cloud stays away

Of course, if Heathrow beats the previous record that will invalidate the whole heatwave as far as Twitter is concerned.

London City airport now reporting 35C rounded. Looking at the satellite it's quite a narrow band of cloud so it may well pass through and allow temps to rise again this afternoon.
