Any of the learned members have any thoughts about the storms popping up over France reaching us in the early hours?

Temps rising here now! Seem the red warning was correct.  Impossible to sleep tonight I suspect.  Wet T Shirt and fan is the best I can do without Air con

The decaying storms from France have reached here - just a bit of cloud, a marked rise then fall in pressure and, unfortunately, a bump in temperature! It's 20.6 (and rising), dew 20.0, with a low of 19.7 at 2 AM.

There are still plenty of places in the 20s this morning, and Keswick, reporting 26.5 at 3 AM, has to be one of the more unusual ones.

A fiery day ahead down here and yes, I expect the June record to go again today.

A lovely cool 15.8c here just in the zone modified by the North Sea. Showers to the South then a rapid warm up I think. How hot it gets will depend on whether we manage to stay dry in the next couple of hours.

Minimum of 23.2 last night. At 2am it was still 27.6°C outside. At about 3 there were flashes of lightning and a slight pitter patter so I went out but it was too light to make me feel refreshed so I went back to bed to stare at the ceiling thermometer for a few more hours. Bedroom stayed above 30 throughout.

The overnight low here was 21.4C making it the highest of the heatwave so far. Also, my glasses steamed up this morning when I left the a/c, so it more humid than yesterday.

Overnight low 22.9C the highest I ever recorded since 22C back in August 2004.  25.1C in the conservatory the highest night time temps so far compare to over 24C last year.  Will be hotter today before it cool off in the evening.

Just had a recent storm pass through us which deposited about 10 mins of heavy welcome rain. Pleasant enough night with an overnight low of 15c

Definitely an East Kent day today. Vineyard bottomed out at 18.7C at midnight and has been climbing since. 26.3C at 7am.

On days like this the mornings see temperatures soaring at breakneck pace, followed by an afternoon plateau.

26.5c at Langdon Bay , plenty of 25s already.  If it stays clear surely the record is on.

Down to a 37 here on the MetO raw, and that seems reasonable to me. It's 23.1 out there (22.4 dewpoint) and feels very oppressive already - indoors, thanks to leaving the portable aircon running overnight, it's 23C down and 27C up (my bedroom was cooler but at midnight I switched to piping the cold air downstairs instead). It will have been a very uncomfortable night, even for heat fans, and tonight will be even worse...

Norwich is sporting a 39 on today's MetO raw, and if it's not north Kent it'll be East Anglia that records the highest temperatures today, and indeed I still expect the highest of the whole heatwave today.

Good luck to everyone in the heatwave zone, especially those who've avoided the worst of it until now!

There is a lot of cloud pushing from the south over France. I do wonder if it will dissipate though as surely the air is still sinking.

Tropical night in... Well pretty much the whole country. Even Carlisle didn't get below 22C! Think it's the first ever tropical CET night as well

We must be close to the only place that hasn’t had a tropical night, down here at least. Still never have. Down to 19.9c very briefly at just after 5am 😎
