Fault with the temperature monitoring system at Yeovilton to blame.

I can only see 35.86c on the Merryfield data set at 3pm, I must be missing something?

Will be a shame if 37.3 at Yeovilton doesn't make the cut - that's higher than the 1990 record too.

Another day, another 35.1c although the WLL is showing yesterday as my June record still.

Currently 33.8c

Hopefully they sort out these station reporting issues quickly.

36.7C is the new June record in Merryfield. It appears they have discounted Yeovil.

I daresay they'll scrabble around for another excuse, but it's one less thing they have to whinge about!

Shame about Yeovilton I doubt the error was significant. But at least we beat it again. Tomorrow looks very close again but Writtle,  Cavendish, Charsfield and Santon Downham  are good bets.

If any site should be under scrutiny it’s Heathrow

Maxima on my Davis was 33.3c, and even allowing for location in urban back garden, this is is the highest temp I have ever recorded going back to 2009. Still 31.5c, dew 24.5c and wind is all but gone. Cloud filling in now to  ensuring that the heat of the day stays trapped in for the rest of the evening and night. 🤢🤮

Today's maximum temperatures here in Edinburgh were 23.97°C at Gogarbank and 23.3°C at Swanston, but only 20.44°C at the botanic gardens, so no official heatwave here in Edinburgh from this particular spell of weather and tomorrow is forecast to be a bit cooler and more unsettled.

However, I am noticing that the forecast is for it to then warm up again on Saturday but only up to around 24°C here in Edinburgh according to the Met Office and only for a day.

After that, it is then forecast to cool down here but only to around 20°C according to the Met Office with the temperatures then remaining at or slightly above that value for the foreseeable future.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Yeovilton seems not to have sent an 1800Z SYNOP so clearly something is amiss.

36.5 was the max at Middle Wallop and also a 36.4 at Otterbourne Waterworks beat yesterday’s high.

36.5 at Guernsey has also smashed the all-time high.
