I probably won't get time, but if I do, I'll plot the full 06Z temperature grid later today.

Here in Edinburgh, the Met Office have downgraded tomorrow's temperature for here to just 23°C after previously going for tomorrow to be hotter than today and possibly even challenging yesterday's record high temperatures. In their accompanying text forecast though, they are still going for a highest temperature of around 30°C which would be insane for here at what is still quite an early stage of the season.

However, the Met Office's text forecasts cover a very wide area and so, this would suggest that we are likely to see more of a North Sea influence during tomorrow. Even with that, I can still possibly see some high temperatures being recorded in the south of Edinburgh at Swanston, and possibly even at Gogarbank as well. However, I would imagine that due to its closer proximity to the coast, the temperature at the botanic gardens would probably be pegged back to the low to possibly mid 20s°C with that.

With that North Sea influence as well, I would imagine that you would probably have to go even further inland than the south of Edinburgh to be able to get anything which is challenging 30°C and for that reason, I'm not expecting any more records to be broken here with this current spell of weather.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

This morning it was 27.7C at that time. The highest was 28.5C at St Catherine's Point on the IOW - usually one of the coolest stations in the daytime!

Some very high dewpoints currently though - 23C at Southampton airport, and lots of 22s.

This weather station is not far from me and seems to be pretty well sited and has lots of detail.

Currently 29.1 with 22.8 dp giving a "feels like" of 33.1C and it's not even 10am.

National Grid are saying things are looking marginal for this evening.

I do think SW of London is the hot spot to look out for today, that area missed all the storms and if I understand has quite sandy soils. I think we will get the June record today and perhaps even a cheeky100F.

The mad UKV/Met Office outputs from a couple of days ago (Met Office forecast 39c IMBY for Thursday) now very much disappeared and Thursday forecast to top out at 33c, so just squeaking a 90f, rather than the 102f showing the other day.

Pity - I'd have liked to have clocked the 'big 100' here

The plus side is that the descent back to normal temps takes a couple days longer so Saturday now still touches 80f. We get a band of patchy rain overnight Sat/Sun, which cleares early to leave Sunday pretty refreshed.

A mad 31.2C already at the Vineyard. Wasn't expecting East Kent to rocket quite so much today.

Wunderground link is a bit delayed which shows how quickly it's shooting up.

EDIT: and I have a scarcely believable 25.7C dewpoint. Yuck

That Fleet weather station was at 29.6C at 10am, I think 36-37C in this part of the world is quite likely today. None of the official stations round here are in very hot locations though. Alice Holt always seems to read very cool, Farnborough was fairly high yesterday though.

Back from a short walk - the sun is searing, it's misty (rare considering the temperature) and it's by far the warmest at 10AM that it's been during this heatwave. Just the odd puff of wind from the NW, not the NE I'm hoping for!

26.8, dew 23.8.
