A min of 7.6c last night so the coolest night so far this June, we normally have a 4c or 5c most years so nothing out of the ordinary.

Max was 18.4c, mostly sunny all day, not a single shower here.

I was out and about earlier on today but I have to say that it hasn't felt anything like "summer" today.

Until this evening, it was mainly dry apart from the odd very light shower earlier on this morning, with some sunny intervals at times.

There was a period of heavier rain during this evening but once again, this just hasn't been picked as any significant rainfall at any of the nearby major stations and it just seems now that everyone else on this forum gets to report some decent rainfall totals in their area, that is never going to happen here regardless of what our weather is actually like.

As at 7:40pm BST (18:40 UTC) this evening, a total of 4.8 hours of sunshine was recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank but as today is ending on a mostly cloudy note, that is likely to be today's final total.

Today was cooler than yesterday as well with very disappointing temperatures for this time of the year as today's maximum temperatures reached only 15.65°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 16.13°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Now as I write, this evening is bordering on being ridiculously cold for this time of the day at this time of the year with the temperature here in Edinburgh already down to around 9°C as this so-called "summer" continues to go even further down the toilet pan.😡

Last night was a very cold one for this time of the year (our coldest night of this summer so far) with an overnight minimum temperature of only 6.57°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 6.18°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

This has then taken us into the usual mix of cloud and sunshine to start off today which barely ever changes here from one day to the next.

As I write, the temperature here in Edinburgh has recovered to around 12°C.

Hail! 2mm in diameter, made a right racket and started to settle (it's eased off and thawed now). That's more ice falling from the sky in June than we had all winter. 😁

16.3, dew 11.2.

We have just had an impressive downpour here! 15.30hrs approx. I will check the rain gauge shortly and update.

We had 2mm! The forecast on TWO for LN3 5TY suggested 1.8mm @ 15.00. Not bad! 😁

A better day today here in Edinburgh with only the odd shower, and with a total of 8.8 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8:40pm BST (19:40 UTC) this evening.

Today's showers resulted in a total of 2.0 mm of rain at Edinburgh Gogarbank but on this occasion, that is probably fair enough as today's showers weren't quite as torrential as what we witnessed in other recent days which means that today's total is a least more representative of what I actually witnessed. In my books, there's nothing more frustrating than seeing what seems like a lot of rain over a period of time, only for very little of that to picked up by the major local weather stations as actual recorded rainfall, especially when that comes after a drier spell, resulting in a deficit which needs to be made up.

Today was slightly warmer than yesterday but today's temperatures were still disappointing for this time of the year with a maximum temperature of only 16.02°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 16.47°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Currently a rather cool 10°C here in Edinburgh although even that isn't quite as cool as this time yesterday.

Last night wasn't quite as cold as the previous night but it was still rather chilly for the time of year with an overnight minimum temperature of 7.98°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 7.55°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today actually started off on a bright and sunny note and I was able to witness a nice looking sunsrise from my bedroom and living room windows as I saw the Sun rise over Inchkeith Island in the middle of the Firth of Forth.

However, you would have needed to have been up in the early hours of this morning to have been able to see any sunshine here as it then very soon clouded over from the SW with light to moderate rain having now set in here.

In addition to that, the temperatures are also generally refusing to rise, so the temperature here in Edinburgh is currently only a rather pathetic (for this time of the year) 11°C as it continues to feel not even remotely like "summer" here.😡️

At 3.00pm today, June 11th, it was cloudy,  drizzly and 11.9C and I was at a funeral. However the max was 13.5C at 10.15 am. All in all pretty unusual. Another 6.7mm of rain bringing the total so far for June to 57mm which has been very good news for my garden and allotment and with warmer but not too hot weather on the way it should be ideal for recovery and further growth.

A rather disappointing day once again.

There was some rain earlier on today which has now cleared to leave us with a few breaks in the cloud and even the odd brighter interval. This rain event resulted in a total of 3.6 mm of rain being recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank which is still not all that much although that is more than what. we have been getting lately.

In my last post on here, I mentioned the fact that you had be up really early to have witnessed any sunshine and it turns out that this sunshine actually came too early to be picked up by any of our major stations as actual recorded sunshine. The result of this is that today will now officially go down as our second completely sunless day of this summer which is very poor fare given that we are now close to the summer solstice when our possible available sunshine on any given day should be at around the maximum for the year as a whole (we've now already had more sunless days at Edinburgh Gogarbank during the first couple of weeks of this summer than what was recorded there during the whole of the spring).

Temperatures were also very poor for this time of the year once again with today's maximum temperature reaching only 16.07°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 15.85°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

However, it is a bit warmer now than it was at this time yesterday with the temperature still holding up at around 14°C here in Edinburgh.
