I was out and about earlier on today but I have to say that it hasn't felt anything like "summer" today.
Until this evening, it was mainly dry apart from the odd very light shower earlier on this morning, with some sunny intervals at times.
There was a period of heavier rain during this evening but once again, this just hasn't been picked as any significant rainfall at any of the nearby major stations and it just seems now that everyone else on this forum gets to report some decent rainfall totals in their area, that is never going to happen here regardless of what our weather is actually like.
As at 7:40pm BST (18:40 UTC) this evening, a total of 4.8 hours of sunshine was recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank but as today is ending on a mostly cloudy note, that is likely to be today's final total.
Today was cooler than yesterday as well with very disappointing temperatures for this time of the year as today's maximum temperatures reached only 15.65°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 16.13°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Now as I write, this evening is bordering on being ridiculously cold for this time of the day at this time of the year with the temperature here in Edinburgh already down to around 9°C as this so-called "summer" continues to go even further down the toilet pan.😡
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
