I've had a Davis Vantage Pro 2 since 2005. Over the years I've had to replace various sensors and a few years ago, the entire base station, but the console is still the original one that was supplied with it.
I've recently had problems with the data logger and was intending to replace it, but it got me thinking about whether it would be better to look at some of the alternatives now on the market. Some manufacturers appear to offer much better software than WeatherLink, which I'm currently using, as well as smartphone app integration. They also seem to be much cheaper than Davis.
My main concerns are the accuracy of the sensors and the robustness of the cheaper units. Does anyone have any views or recommendations?
