23.1C here at 10.50, slightly warmer than yesterday but there is a breeze. Can't see it beating the 33.6C peak, might make 30 again though.

What I have noticed these past three drought months is the low dew points and complete lack of any humidity so sleeping has not been a problem and most nights have been down to 15C or lower even after the 33.6C.

26.4c with a moderate breeze, which is lovely. Plenty of AC in the blue sky, may see some showers but not going to hold my breath on that front. They'll probably end up too far west or east of here.

Overcast in that lumpy, threatening dark cloud sort of way but staying dry. (which I'm thankful for) 16.8c with Dp 14c, which, while still feeling humid and sticky, is much more pleasant feeling than recently.

Could be the hottest day of the year so far here today - the MetO raw has 31, and with a southerly the sea breeze won't save me today!

17.4, dew 15.1, both rising fast under plentiful sunshine. There were a few bits of accas around earlier (which makes a change), but they've since evaporated. It's going to be steamy and sticky today, I think... 🥵

Down to 26.9c here now with full cloud, albeit a high level with the sun breaking through.

A line of showers passed through about 30 mins ago and looked like there may be a few bits of heavy stuff from the radar, but not a drop touched the ground.

Here in Edinburgh, the Sun continues to refuse to stop shining but according to the Met Office, the temperature was supposed to rise to around 23°C which was actually a downgrade from a previous forecast for today of around 27°C for here.

Sadly though, it is now unlikely that the temperature here in Edinburgh is going to come even close to reaching the lower of those two values, let alone the higher of those values.

As I write, the temperature here in Edinburgh is only around 18°C more generally (that temperature has even dropped a bit in the last hour or so) and just  16°C at the botanic gardens with that wind from off the North Sea still refusing to abate.

All in all, this has to go down as massive fail from the Met Office's perspective although in a way, I don't actually mind that because that has made my flat a lot more comfortable as a result, than I was expecting it to be.

Another nice bright and dry day here. Currently sunny and 14.9°C after an earlier high of 15.7°C.

Today's maximum temperature was 19.78°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 17.18°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so today was only a tad warmer than yesterday in the end, and nowhere near as warm as it was forecast to be.

As at 7:40pm BST (18:40 UTC), a total of 11.0 hours of sunshine had been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank which still leaves us with a fighting chance of getting away with a sunnier than average month in the end with only 3 days left to go. We're now 90.3% of the way through this month and we've now had 88.2% of our 1991-2020 May average sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank, so we're now finally very close to making up that deficit for this month, but still haven't quite done so yet. Actually getting a sunnier than average month this time continues to be a very big ask and as I write, more in the way of cloud has now built up from the south.

As I write though, it's currently warmer than it was at this time yesterday at around 17°C here in Edinburgh.

Yesterday wasn't as warm here in Edinburgh as it was supposed to be, but the temperature also didn't drop by all that much last night.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 13.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 14.1°C the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. For the botanic gardens, that actually makes last night the joint warmest May night on record according to records which go back to 1959. That record itself was set back on 25 May 2017 and the previous date record for yesterday (since this is officially yesterday's data which we are dealing with)  was 13.9°C as set in 2001.

The weather itself still refuses to change in any way, so we still have the usual mixture of cloud and sunny spells without any rain but we have now finally lost that wind from off the North Sea although the wind has picked up a bit this morning.

The wind is now quite gusty coming from the west. Last night there was a wildfire just outside Edinburgh and this wind has been carrying a burning smell with it all day.. Has drizzled a fair bit as well. Summer is over.

A very welcome and refreshing feel today, the max was 24.3c, which is obviously still way above average.

We managed to get our downstairs down to 20c this morning, which was bliss, however that rose through the day back up to nearly 25c.

Currently 20.1c outside, a very pleasant late spring evening with a light westerly.

In many ways, today's weather was a bit different from what we've been seeing recently (more so than for quite a long time), but still not all that different.

There were a few sunny intervals at the start to today but today was actually mostly overcast and breezy until this evening. However, normal service for here has been resumed once again as the skies have cleared with the Sun now shining yet again.

There was even a little bit rain for a while this afternoon but that only dampened the ground a little bit and wasn't enough to generate any actual recorded rainfall at any of my local stations as per usual.

The change of wind direction meant that today was warmer than yesterday at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh with a maximum temperature of 19.1°C whereas the temperatures at Edinburgh Gogarbank were similar to yesterday with a maximum temperature of 19.44°C.

Overall, today was our dullest day for quite a long time with a total of only 1.1 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 7:40pm BST (18:40 UTC) this evening. Even with that, there is still an outside chance of us escaping with a sunnier than average month but for that to happen, both of the last 2 days will need to be virtually completely sunny and according to the latest forecasts, that is unlikely to happen. That said though, forecasts can be wrong and so, I still wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that actually happened.

Currently, around 15°C here in Edinburgh which is a bit cooler than it was at this time yesterday.

Sunny and still muggy here - further inland it's going to be another hot or very hot day, but here there should be a sea breeze to keep things cooler (but, sadly, not fresher!) Tomorrow the winds will swing round to the WNW, and finally we'll lose the high dewpoints.

16.4, dew 15.3, the overnight low was 13.2. Yesterday's high was a hot 26.4, with dewpoints of 17 or 18 for most of the day.
