The level snow in my garden is also at exactly 38cm. I guess it’s not a surprise as it’s only about 3 miles away (if that).

For a snapshot of the streets around here I have made a little album from a walk just now. I hope the share settings allow viewing:

Nowadays, the only reports from Aberdeen are currently coming the Doc (Michael) and I'm not sure why Richard suddenly disappeared from the scene as this is the sort of weather which we would actually have loved.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh continues to be completely starved of any snow. The radar maps are showing up little bits and pieces of it here, but I'm just not seeing that at all. Everything continues to look as bone dry as ever with most of the precipitation actually passing by to our north and completely avoiding here altogether.

That should come as no surprise because just now, Edinburgh can't even seem to be able to get any rainfall these days, let alone anything which will actually fall as snow. Even rainfall appears to be becoming something from the past in our future climate which we used to get but no longer get, and that is going to be very concerning going forward as regards to our river and reservoir levels.

As I write, I am now starting to see the odd flurry of snow here in Edinburgh but I'm not expecting much more than that if anything at all but as that is happening, the temperature has risen back up above freezing after dropping to around -3°C in the earlier part of the night.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

My phone app has suddenly switched to 100% chance of snow for the next hour. Having said that it also says it is currently snowing. Looks like lots of light stuff on the radar but not sure if it is reaching the ground? Still fairly sunny here.

The fax is showing a warm front so I would imagine it’s very cold rain or freezing rain.

Light snow here (just north of Salisbury), wet flakes, but settling ok. Looks like about half an hour on the radar and could easily be back to rain. But for now, very pretty against the evergreen trees!

(Shame I took the decs down 1 day early!)

We’ve had another 2 cm this morning really unexpected, this spell hasn’t actually been that bad for where I live, not mountains of snow but it’s been enjoyable. Whether we get a snow day on Friday is another thing.

The radar has moderate returns here but I have only seen very occasional snow flakes (as in, you can count them falling) making it to Earth. Still, at least they are proper flakes and it is falling snow!

Frustratingly, it's 'turning' to snow just a mere few miles east of here (stopped now in MBY)

The radar was wrong unfortunately. I was bang in the middle of the pink snow cloud on the radar in WA3 but in reality it was raining and has wet the very thin layer of snow we had
