Had heavy rain (11 mm) and thunder this morning here at Folkestone. Fell as snow over them them hills. Currently 1.7 C, if it was just a degree colder but once again altitude is key.

A very cold and frosty start to today here in Edinburgh, but a bright and sunny start to the day as well with only a little bit of high cloud around.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was -5.9°C which makes last night our coldest night of this autumn so far by quite a considerable amount.

Currently around -4°C here in Edinburgh

Now at 16 mm of rain so far this morning here at Folkestone. If it was just a degree or two colder, it would be 6 inches of snow by now but temps has risen to 2.9 C & 2 C DP. What a waste of the perfect Kent Clipper set up.

The temperature here in Edinburgh is now up to around 4°C but it's now clouded over from the west.

It's now raining here in Edinburgh with the temperature continuing to go up rather than down (now, currently around 5°C and rising).😡

Cold, calm and frosty, albeit very localised looking at the Wundermap - everywhere else seems to be above freezing!

-0.8, dew -1.8, following an overnight low of -1.6 (which is the coldest so far this season). Yesterday's high was 6.0, but with light winds and plenty of sunshine it felt warmer than that would suggest.

A dull, overcast and rather gloomy start to today here in Edinburgh after the clearance of the overnight rain.

The temperature during the night at Edinburgh Gogargank reached a maximum (yes, that is a MAXIMUM and not a MINIMUM, so that is not a typo and the temperature has actually dropped slightly since then) of 6.5°C which was actually yesterday's official maximum for the entire day.

Yesterday's minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was officially -3.8°C and this means that an official air frost was even recorded once again for yesterday, but that is only due to a temperature which was recorded at 9am GMT (09:00 UTC) yesterday morning which was the start of the official observation day that covers yesterday.

Currently around 5°C here in Edinburgh

Down here it is wet, windy with a fresh SSW breeze. Temperatures back to the Cornish average of 11.4c. A clearance is due soon … hopefully

Windy from the SW, wet and showery, gloomy so far and don't believe it will be any brighter this way, not today. Rain forecast for the entire day.

It’s a lovely late autumn day here. The sun is shining (and making good work on thawing the snow) and the skies are blue. Apart from treacherous footpaths it was a very pleasant walk just now at 5.0°C but feeling warmer. (The links will load full size images).

A dismal grey day turned wet, and we have had steady light rain all afternoon. I'd guess about 1cm - I'll check the gauge when I got out in about an hour. About 7°C.
