Had snow too this morning and once again November delivered snow every year since 2021 just hope this is not the last one once again.

A decent covering of snow here. I've posted a short video which can be watched on The Signal here:

Well I wasn't expecting this. Some of the heaviest snow I've seen for a long while, big flakes and grass (and cars) is rapidly turning white. Roads are very wet and won't get covered but very nice to see - and exactly a year to the day after the first snowfall of last "winter". (And look how that turned out!)

Unexpected snow here too, which is readily settling. It's even starting to settle on tarmac surfaces.

A little bit of sleety rain here but there are reports of light snow around the area, probably the Mendips  and Salisbury Plain.

Woke up to nothing falling but the ground outside was wet.

Youngest daughter showed me a vid a friend had sent her of snow falling around 4am. But if I've not witnessed it with my own eyes, it didn't happen 😉😊

Perhaps discussion about the rest of autumn or the forthcoming winter season is not best suited for a snow reports thread? Just a thought.

On topic and I have noticed a few sferics appearing on the charts recently in NE Scotland in some of the heavier showers. A bit of thunder snow would be fun.

There is still quite a scattering of snow showers around here currently with all surfaces covered (unless they have been cleared).

Inevitably several inches now around Blakey Ridge Lion Inn.

Temperature falling well below freezing through this morning so drifting and poor visibility an issue too.

Its a slush-fest lower down with intermittent cover.

Snowed unexpectedly in Sevenoaks town centre around 10am this morning, for about 20 mins or so, sometimes with big fluffy flakes, but it didn't settle. In the light of the ECMWF forecast of 4% chance, imagine my surprise!

When the cloud lifted a bit later in the morning I could see a snow cover on the North Downs, and a car driving towards the town must have come from that area as there was a thin covering on the roof and parts of the windscreen not cleared by the wipers.

Amazingly saw falling but not settling snow in Chichester! That’s the third November in a row  I’ve seen i falling snow and the previous 2 Novembers that was the only falling snow I saw here in the whole of  both of those winters….bizarre really….

A lot of showers coming down through East Anglia but I think they are rain or and like this year they are vanishing when they get to mid Essex and East Kent even though they are coming from the North! 3.3C though and -1.5C D.P so not giving up yet. 😊

Things turned nasty on A171 Whitby to Guisborough mid-afternoon with quite high traffic volumes and intense snow showers as temperature fell to near freezing.

Scores of vehicles stationary as HGVs and buses ground to a halt both ways - and no real let up overnight (or tomorrow).

It's like the good ol' days seeing on the radar all those snow showers piling into the N.York Moors and around Hull. Maybe this winter it will even get back to the times when the EA coast to Kent and the Newcastle/Durham areas get back to the old ways!
