Saw some ice pellets at lunchtime. Was surprised to see it given that I expected it to be too mild for anything wintry. Heavier precipitation was enough to bring it to lower levels.

There are now some more frequent snow showers here and an increasingly strong gusty wind. The showers are starting to leave a light covering on most surfaces.

Heavy snow, 0.0c. Everything covered , unexpected as no models showed snow cover here, Met office app did show a spell of heavy show though.

3cm here on the grass and high surfaces.

Some melt on the road and pavements since it stopped though as temp is 0.7c. Very slushy. Was hoping ot might freeze before dawn.

I think we missed most of the snow showers overnight but there have been a few in the past hour or so. Everything looks a very pretty white outside although there is not significant depth just now.

Settling snow in Birdlip and the high Cotswolds this morning.

Currently living at roughly 65m asl North of Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Formerly of, Birdlip, highest village in the Cotswolds and snow heaven in winter; Hawkinge in Kent - roof of the South downs and Isles of Scilly, paradise in the UK.

A bit of snow settled in the north of Nottingham according to my daughter.....none here at 70m. However, it's white above 200m to my south

Yes, I can see that the Pentland Hills to my south has quite a bit of snow on them.

It's just disappointing that I saw only rain here in NW Edinburgh with not even the south of Edinburgh getting any lying snow from that for any length of time.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Steady moderate snow here in St Albans for the last hour or so. It turned quite heavy for a while too. It has started to settle which is surprising after overnight rain but is now petering out. With a temperature of 0.9C I expect it will melt quickly once the sun comes out.

Well I wasn't expecting this. Some of the heaviest snow I've seen for a long while, big flakes and grass (and cars) is rapidly turning white. Roads are very wet and won't get covered but very nice to see - and exactly a year to the day after the first snowfall of last "winter". (And look how that turned out!)
