Today is confirmed once again as our coldest day of this autumn so far with a maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank of just 4.2°C and on this occasion, that has also given us our first sub 5°C maximum of this season.
Meanwhile, the rain (and it has really just been rain here in NW Edinburgh despite Jerry's reports on the snow reports thread) is now finally clearing away having resulted in a total of 9.0 mm of rain being recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank as a result of this particular event.
Because of that, more than 100 mm of rain has now been recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank during this month for only the first time since May 2024 and despite the fact that this has been this autumn's only wetter than average month, the autumn as a whole is now also getting close to being wetter than average as a result even though we're not even all that much more than half way through this month.
A frost is forecast for here later on but the skies still need to clear before that can happen. In the meantime, the temperature in Edinburgh is around 2°C.
