After a mostly sunny and warm few days, a light shower this morning. The field and trees in the foreground lit up against a dark sky to the west with a beautiful bright rainbow arching above the scene

Overcast, 15.9, dew 14.4. A wet day by recent standards, too, with 2.2mm of rain falling.

The reason I've posted is because the high was only 18.8 - summer is finally over. (Every day from the 9th June to the 9th September inclusive reached 20C or more. I think that's unprecedented here.)

13.8C, SW breeze.  As the sun rises it's getting darker. What looks  like on the radar is a potent shower as it approaches off the Channel.

Today started off on a bright and mostly sunny note, but it's also breezy with a number of light passing showers around.

Today is also much cooler than of late at long with and the temperature here in Edinburgh is only around 14°C as I write after briefly rising to around 16°C at around lunchtime.

Some big cumulonimbus in the skies at present. One to the north is reflecting the sun back creating a blinding glow. Missing most of the showers here though. 12.6c currently with the high, so far, being a seasonal 13.2c.

Been another changeable day with good sunny periods and showers, the most recent at 7 pm was very blustery which dropped 5 mm in just minutes. 9 mm in all today. A fresh-feeling 13.8 C after a peak of 19.1 C at 3.10 pm.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 16.9°C with a total of 6.1 hours of sunshine, so today was slightly warmer than yesterday.

There was a few showers around during this afternoon in particular which were quite heavy when they came along, but these showers were also very brief and short-lived which meant that as per usual for here, the actual amounts of recorded rainfall from that at the nearby major stations continues to be very small.

Currently around 11°C here in Edinburgh and much drier than at this time last night.

There was some rain in the early hours of this morning which amounted to 1.2 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

That rain has now cleared away and although there is still some cloud to my east, the skies are clear apart from that which means that the Sun should be out here once again fairly soon.

Last night was cooler than of late with an overnight minimum temperature of 9.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Currently around 9°C here in Edinburgh
