76.2mm here, and allowing for another mm or 2 before the day's end due to miserable spotty light showers, the month will dryer than average, though not by a whole lot.

The final total was 3.6mm here - including 0.2mm of dew trickling into the gauge yesterday. Can anyone on here beat that?

The latest rainfall data for Edinburgh Gogarbank is as follows:

Data For Recent Days

24 hour total up to 10 am BST (09:00 UTC) this morning: 3.6 mm

Monthly Data

Final total for August 2025: 26.4 mm (35.3% of 1991-2020 August average)

Number of rain days during August 2025: 7 (62.7% of 1991-2020 August average)

Number of dry days during August 2025: 17

An exceptionally dry month which was our second driest month of this year so far with only a relatively wet end to the month preventing it from being the driest month of the year.

Seasonal Data

Final total for the summer of 2025: 174.6 mm (81.1% of 1991-2020 summer average)

Number of rain days during the summer of 2025: 29 (86.1% of 1991-2020 summer average)

Number of dry days during the summer of 2025: 48

The summer of 2025 started off with a slightly wetter than average June in terms of the actual rainfall amounts, but which was still drier than average in terms of the number of rain days. It was a summer which became progressively drier over with August then being exceptionally dry. That in turn, led to the summer as a whole being quite substantially drier than average.

Annual Data

Total for this year so far: 361.8 mm (46.1% of 1991-2020 annual average)

Number of rain days during this year: 64 (46.6% of 1991-2020 annual average)

Number of dry days during this year: 140

August's total here comes to 21mm, just 37% of our average.  Interestingly, we've now had five consecutive dry Augusts, and also five consecutive dry Junes!   Julys have been much more variable.

In terms of the Summer season, I recorded 147mm, making it a rather dry Summer (87% average).
