Know the feeling. Normally do quite well for storms here but this year has been a bit of a failure. That said, a storm is close, rain has started, lightning and thunder too.

Thunder grumbling away to our south-west. There is a line of mature Cumulonimbus to our west and south-west
Edinburgh, in the frost hollow below Blackford Hill
An intense storm has developed over the Grampians to the east of the A93 - lots of lightning right from formation.
It has sat almost stationary for the last hour - with bone dry ground the run-off must be considerable so flash floods are very possible.

I can see the cloud tops from Edinburgh! They seem to be building south and east
Unconfirmed reports of golf ball sized hail from that storm!

Edit - a station at Bridge of Cally in Perthshire has had 71mm of rain so far since just before 3pm. The first 52mm fell in 20 minutes.
For info, here's the total precipitation via radar for the last 6 hours, via NetWeather. There are a few pixels of 200-250mm total rainfall, which really is remarkable!
