Had a lightning strike on a house on our estate yesterday afternoon, about 150 yards from our house
I was in work but my missus called me - it tripped our RCD for the sockets. Says it was the loudest crash of thunder she'd ever heard, and the whole house shook.
Pics of the damage to the house - about a dozen roof edge tiles and 2m'ish of fascia/sofits was obliterated and scattered on the floor (I assume it hit a TV aerial attached there) - were put on our estate WhatsApp by a neighbour, but then deleted shortly after (not sure why?). A number of other people had their RCD tripped - and one now has it repeatedly tripping.
Another resident posted a clip from their CCTV; the screen pixelates, then there's a flash, a car alarm begins to go off, then a huge explosion sound - all in the space of a couple of seconds.
