Today has started off on a dull and overcast note here in Edinburgh after the clearance of some overnight rain but even with that, there is still the odd bright interval at times with even the odd brief glimpse of the Sun.

That rainfall amounted to 6.0 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 6.2 mm at the botanic gardens but although we're now only a week away from the end of this month, that is only our first recorded rainfall of this month and our first recorded rainfall since 25 April 2025 with yesterday going down as only our first official rain day since 20 April 2025 which is more than an entire month ago.

That shows just how dry it's been just lately but with all of the cloud cover, last night was much milder than of late.

Currently around 14°C here in Edinburgh

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Overcast with drizzle following overnight rain. It feels positively tropical out there after the weeks of pleasantly low dewpoints!

13.1, dew 12.2, 6.8mm of rain today. The overnight low was 12.4 and yesterday's high was 19.2.

One aspect of this spring is the manner in which the Sun has just kept on refusing to stop shining and even today, the clouds have still broken up quite a bit to allow some fairly decent spells of sunshine at times.

However, today hasn't been as sunny overall as we've been used to lately and the wind has also picked up quite a bit.

Currently around 17°C here in Edinburgh

Today's max is 19.2c, so almost identical to yesterday's 19.1c, the big difference was the min at 12.2c (so far) compared to 2.1c yesterday.

Felt very muggy this morning till lunchtime, although this has lessened during the day. The 10k run this morning was a glorious sweat-fest!

2mm of rain fell during the night, and although the radar showed a number of showers crossing us during the day, nothing has really made it down to the surface.

As this evening has gone on, it has clouded over and it's now raining once again here in Edinburgh as I write.

However, today was warmer than of late once again with the maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching 19.8°C although the wind has died down once again.

Currently, a rather muggy 17°C here in Edinburgh
