Calm, foggy. A good sign that warmer, more humid conditions are here - once that burns off, which won't take long at this time of year, it'll be a markedly different feel to the past few days.

8.4, dew 7.6, the overnight low being 8.3. Yesterday's high was 14.8.

Hazy sunshine and already a warm feeling 18 C in Edinburgh

After the warm, dry and sunny March, April has been the same (with one day to go). Both month's have been over 1.5 C warmer than long term. Sunshine has been over 140% of the long term figures and rainfall less than 50%. So different from last year. I wonder if May will follow suit 🤔

Today is now our warmest day of the year so far here in Edinburgh with the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching 20.7°C.

There is a lot of high cloud around along with some small fair weather cumulus clouds, but there is also plenty of sunshine coming through.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

The sun's felt fiery these past couple of days, but it's deceptive - get out of direct sunlight and it's still pleasantly fresh.

Currently it's clear, calm, 14.8, dew 11.4. The max was 18.9, slightly down on yesterday's 19.6. The MetO raw has 28 here on Thursday - seems hard to believe, but once the nominally NE'ly airflow is switched off it'll get very warm very quickly.
