Yesterday was once again our sunniest day of this year so far with a total of 12.3 hours of sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
However, there was never going to be any chance of that being repeated today given the overcast start to the day and so despite an almost completely sunny afternoon, a total of only 4.9 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5:40pm BST (16:40 UTC) this afternoon.
I did report a temperature of around 12°C here in Edinburgh earlier on but that was only due to the temperature very briefly reaching 11.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank at around that time.
In actual fact, the highest hourly temperature reading at Edinburgh Gogarbank for today is only 10.6°C and it actually feels rather chilly now in that brisk wind from off the North Sea.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
