9.5C. Calmer and feels milder than yesterday which was quite chilly.

Some high cloud but the Transatlantic early flights seem to be giving this part of Dorset a miss today.

First of all, I would like to wish all Mums out there a very Happy Mother's Day

On this occasion, that has also coincided with the change of the clocks into British Summer Time (BST). This doesn't in any way affect the length of the actual official observation day as the start and end of that is tied to the time in UTC rather than on the local time, but the change to British Summer Time does mean that according to our clocks and watches, the start and end of each official observation day will now be at 10am BST instead of 9am GMT from now on as both of those times still correspond to 09:00 UTC.

That said, today has started off on a fairly bright and sunny note here in Edinburgh and the wind has even died down a bit with a temperature of around 8°C here.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Sunny and 9C here but wind gusting to 57mph.

Missed recent rain entirely so with constant gale force winds for several days and lowish humidity it's classic March drying conditions.

25mm (-20mm)  for the month

Fine and sunny once overnight cloud cleared away, also a bit more warmth in the air at 15.5 C & high-60% H since wind is being an offshore NW breeze (for a change).

A high today of 17.3c, although the reasonably stiff wind made it still feel a little fresh out of the sun.

Currently 15.6c, 52% humidity and the NWesterly calming down for the evening.

Bright with sunny spells and partial cloud, it peaked at 18.3 C yesterday but today is struggling to reach 11 C now that we're back under a NE airflow. Little change expected for at least the next 7 to 9 days; as in often dry and bright but never really getting properly warm.

Topped out at 18.5c. Albeit not strong, the little wind there was did take the edge of the warmth though, but certainly not complaining about this for the end of March.

6.5C, cloudy with (nagging) freshening easterly breeze.

We wait all winter for an easterly and come spring along come the tardigrades en masse. God protect us from April Fish.

A stunning morning in The Lakes. An early grass frost and the mountains look superb against a deep blue sky

Heading to the Yorkshire Dales for 3 days, should be just as sunny before the North Sea gloom moves in on Friday 🤔

It's April Fool's Day as I write but the fact that it's completely sunny here in Edinburgh just now with a temperature of around 16°C is no April Fool's joke.
