Finally, we have actually had some interesting weather at long last which is worth actually reporting on here.

We have had quite an extended spell of dry and often sunny weather just lately with the only variations from some days being warm and others being cold although we have had the occasional air frost during this time.

However, this morning is a completely different story altogether because after some overnight rain (something which we've seen very little of just lately), today has started off on a dull and dreary note with a temperature of around 7°C here in Edinburgh.

Still not all that exciting but that appears to be as interesting as our weather actually gets now.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

A fine start to the day with sunshine and calm air making the current 13 C feel mild. An improvement on recent cool, damp & mostly overcast days.

Update at 12.15 pm: Sadly, temperatures have crept down to 11 C on account of an onshore SE breeze in from a relatively cold Channel, but still quite sunny.

Home location: Folkestone Harbour.

10.1C. Very light rain just enough to damp the ground. Light WSW breeze.

Edit. The forecast last night for here was "in the early hours rain will develop". Which implies a useful fall of rain. What the forecaster could have said was  "a weakening front will bring light and patchy rain".

Blue sky to the west now.

The Sun is shining here in Edinburgh just now but only after the clearance of some overnight rain with the odd shower still around, especially first thing this morning.

Currently around 7°C here in Edinburgh.

After a fairly sunny morning, a number of heavier and more frequent showers have now moved in from the west to make it rather miserable here.

Currently around 9°C here in Edinburgh.
