Sunny to the East but clouds coming in from the North.

Was a chilly night, a low of 0.1c and up to 2.4c now

Sat in the office in Reading and looked out and saw a peregrine falcon flying over, so that was a good start to the day.

Talking of spring, today was the start of the much colder conditions aloft as forecast last week. The MetO had highs of 8 and 9 for today until Friday, the GFS stuck with 4 to 6. GFS has since stuck to its guns, with 5 to 6 for the next three days (and some snow flurries!) while MetO has 8s and 9s still.

It's currently partly cloudy, 6.5, dew 3.5, the high so far being 6.6. Yesterday's high was 9.8 and the overnight low was 2.9.

Light hail here now! There been a lot of convection activity in the county this afternoon, but we've missed bit downpours here.

Walking home at 4pm, looking east,  there was a perfect rainbow to be seen, one of the best in a lifetime of enjoying rainbows. Reminded me of the year we put on Noye's Fludde at school and I was multitasking the lighting AND being "The Voice of God".

Today has been windy, with plenty of bright intervals in between the sharp showers, some of which threw down hail, at lunchtime. Now 4.2c and a good bit calmer than earlier.

A crisp bright day with sunny spells and bubbly cumulus, it stayed dry too - unlike yesterday where I caught a graupel/cold rain shower yesterday afternoon. Currently 5.1 C from a peak of 10.2 C at 12.45 pm.

After a rather cloudy morning with limited brightness, it has cheered right up considerably with good noon sunshine. Could have done with that half an hour ago when I popped out for top-up shopping where the 7 C felt rather raw when exposed to NE breeze.

After a bright start, it has become more overcast and just had the lightest of wintry shower. Noticed a pocket of -8 C 850 hpa is creeping over Kent in the NE airflow and the current 5 C & 0 C DP are just borderline cold enough to barely support wintry precipitation from aloft.
Home location: Folkestone Harbour.

Despite reaching 9C by mid afternoon it has felt very cold with a strong ENE wind. The temperature has been falling rapidly and is now 3.8C at 7pm. A frost tonight I think.
