0°C here - proper frost on lawn, cars and roofs - a bright winter's morning and a promising-looking day ahead.

Lovely, sunny day so far, frost still on the grass in sheltered areas, where the sun has yet to touch. Currently 5c, the overnight low was -0.3c at 5am.

Mostly cloudy with slivers of blue sky, it looks like Kent is under a slack north east airflow dragging some North Sea muck our way. Also feeling rather cold at 5.5 C & low-90% H.

EDIT: The sun has just broken through. 😁

-02C. A hoar frost, calm and sunny.

A couple of degrees lower and it would have ben the coldest night of the year here.

0.5C hard white frost, blue sky. Would have appreciated a few days like this in 'winter'.

White Rabbits!!

Today is the first day of meteorological spring and here in Edinburgh, this spring has started off with a few bright and sunny intervals at times, but also quite a lot of high to medium level cloud around.

Last night was milder than of late with the minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank only down to 3.4°C (even that was recorded just after 9am GMT (09:00 UTC) yesterday morning and just in no more counts as yesterday's official minimum temperature as a result).

Currently around 6°C here in Edinburgh but as I would now much rather be getting on with spring, I'm no longer bothered about it not being cold as was the case just a day or so ago.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

While there are some bright breaks amongst the convective looking cumulus streaming in from the North Sea, it isn't feeling quite Spring-like just yet at 6.7 C & high-80% H in a mod NE breeze. Yet it didn't get cold enough for a frost last night with a min of 2.4 C by 6 am.

First day of spring has been a belter here, perfect for being out in the garden, even the towels and sheets are pretty much dry.

The high has probably been as there's more cloud around now, top of 11.3c.
