Indeed, a large part of the UK is even seeing some rain right now and there is even another thread which is devoted that this particular rain event alone.

Because of that, I'm almost certain that at least some of you will already have something to report for this month already and because of that, I have created this thread just now to allow anyone to do that as they wish.

At the moment, the models are suggesting a colder period ahead which means that we might eventually see some reports of at least part of many rainfall totals falling as snow but since cold air can hold much less water vapour than warm/mild air, this might also mean that the outlook in many places is a bit drier as a result.

Regardless of how all of this pans out though, this is the very thread for reporting those all important rainfall totals for this month.

Within that python script, I have fixed a bug which was causing the reported rainfall amounts to be well above what they actually were.

I've found that my new rain gauge I got recently is over recording by 50%, so that reduces the above amount to c. 50mm.   Much less extreme, but still enough rain to cause plenty of flooding in Lincolnshire and over in Leicestershire.

The river had also topped it's banks in a couple of spots near our office (not far from the main bridge in Tonbridge) and the local Sainsburys carpark was flooded too although that's not particularly uncommon. 

My WS has 53.6mm of rain noted, the bulk of which fell Saturday to Monday. 

The River Lambourn is now 6" above the top of normal range and less than a foot below where property flooding becomes reality. The groundwater aquifer is within inches of the record level. 

The latest GFS Op no longer has it as a cert for us to hit 100mm in Jan to start the year off, but it'll be close. Either way it is puddle-central and a mud-fest out there.

Locally, we had heavy rain for most the day and last I looked yesterday evening we had received nearly 70mm.
