Snizzle turned to drizzle here last night despite temps close to zero. Dank morning with temps now rising. 1.5c.

Of all the models, the UKMO proved to be the nearest to what  transpired regarding this feature, at least for here.

Snow has turned to frozen drizzle now, tiny ice pellets and the odd snowflake, which seems odd.  If this continues, it’s going to be very slippery underfoot.  Temp is at 0c and dew point -0.3c.

Situation here at 05:30: Probably a good 10cm now and still coming down. As others have mentioned, it's all a question on when the milder air mass arrives now.

It’s coming down faster again now but I don’t really know what to call it.  It’s not exactly sleet, which is what I call a mix of rain and snow.  It’s a strange mix of snowflakes and frozen rain, which might suggest two layers of precipitation aloft.

Heavy snow here and depth building up nicely .

Continuous light snow started at 06:40 and is falling on frost and ice at -2 C so readily settling. No wind yet either

The precipitation coming into SE Scotland is mostly light and the whole area is now starting to pivot on the radar

Very light snow started around 9.30 last night and we have a nice covering of a couple of cm this morning.  It’s still snowing and there are some nice big flakes now but the radar is showing it’ll soon turn to rain.  I’m really hoping it hasn’t all washed away before my granddaughter gets up, because at three and a half, she’s already as much a fan of snow as granny is.

According to the rain radar, the snowline is moving off to the North with Sheffield currently within the Southern edge. It passed here an hour ago, so it’s fairly slow moving.  It looks like it’ll move past you in Sheffield, around 9 am and past Leeds around midday.  We still have light frozen rain here with the temp at 0.1c and dew point at -0.2c.

My granddaughter will be wanting to build a snowman but I think the frozen rain, which is still falling, might have put paid to that.  We did get good snowman building snow in November though, so she has experienced it.

About 6" here, still snowing but turning rather wet.

Tractor snowplough just went by.

Not much wind so no drifting to worry about.

Very light snow is now falling here in NW Edinburgh which is also starting to settle with a temperature of around -1°C here in Edinburgh.

Just been out to take a measurement on the lawn - 14cm. Still some light snow now but I doubt it will add much more. Think that must be my biggest depth since March 2013.

Not bad for an event that could quite easily have been a slushy mess!

Ice turned to light rain and softened the snow here.  Just as well as Eden had me and grandpa on the garden building a snowman at 8 am.  Apparently the snow on our lawn was better than on theirs, next door.  Lol.  We did actually manage quite a big one, slightly bigger than a 3 year old.  I wonder how long it will stand. If it makes it through today, I reckon it might still be there by next weekend.

Snowing here for over 2 hours now but mostly light we only have 1cm. However all surfaces are now covered. It's -0.5 C

The area of precipitation seems to be weakening

There was a thin dusting here by 1am last night but you wouldn't know it by this morning, the only evidence is some patches in the grass hereabouts. There's no other precipitation right now, just very dull, grey and cold.
