I'm currently just north of Crickhowell (Powys, South Wales) about 200m asl and it is snowing lightly with a thin  covering on the ground. The flakes are small and still floaty but the MetO automated forecast is for it to change to sleet in the next two  hours.

Yes, a bit lucky so far but my brother in Devon near Newton Abbot says it's raining hard down there and temp is 13c so I don't expect this snow to last too long.

It's falling as wet snow here now and is settling on the card etc. I'm at 65m asl and have just taken a drive to the highest point in the Vale (130m).

The true snow line us at about 85m and by the time I got to  the top of the hill it was a winter wonderland with the roads etc all white and about a cm covering.

It's a truly marginal situation here.

Light rain has now turned to light snow here. Surprised as I thought we'd be too near the coast.

Snow here now - started as sleety stuff, now proper snow and a slushy covering on favoured surfaces. Temp 0.3c and if the DP on my WS can be believed, -0.4c DP.

Not bad timing wise - a bit after GFS and a bit before UKV.

Encouraging to read Jim's update, suggests it might stay as snow for a couple of hours at least.

Appropriately enough, rain turned to snow here in Cranleigh not long after I started watching the Channel 5 documentary "The Big Snow of '82", which began at 19:40. We have a complete covering, even on the (little used) road outside my house, as far as I can see in the not that great street lighting. Still snowing. (The documentary, as weather documentaries tend to do, played a bit fast and lose with some of the data, but had some great footage.)
