Happy Christmas morning 🙂

8c here, misty, overcast and almost flat calm.  Overnight low was around 7.5c, around where the daytime max ought to be.

Merry Christmas to everyone here on TWO.

Sadly though, there’s absolutely nothing very seasonal about our weather just now as our frost free horror show goes on.😡

Today is slightly brighter than yesterday here in the Scottish Borders and the Sun has even come out although there’s still a lot of cloud around.

Currently around 10°C here in Hawick.

Drove down to Nottingham from Edinburgh on Christmas Eve. Witnessed a fiery sunrise and a fiery sunset. Car thermometer between 11 and 15 C! The warmest near Doncaster in sunny skies....crazy.

Today in Notts we have bright sunshine like a summer's day!!

Happy Christmas to all at TWO ☀️☀️☀️

6C. We seem to have re-entered the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness with sunshine and blue skies showing through the mist.

Cobwebs everywhere.

A bit of an inversion going on here (not unexpected in December), but a bit milder than might be traditional!

It's around 10C at 850hPa, but down here it's 7C, overcast, and everything's soaking wet - there are even a small few puddles, even though it hasn't rained. Last night's low was 5.9 and yesterday's high ended up as 10.7.

Here in the Scottish Borders, our frost free horror show goes on and I don’t even have to describe this morning’s weather here as I only need to copy and paste yesterday’s post for that.

This shows just how boring and uninteresting our weather has now become to such an extent that even a simple thing such as the temperature inversion which Darren described above has now become too much to ask for here.😡

Up at Edinburgh Gogarbank, the official overnight minimum temperature was no lower than 10.0°C which is absolutely pathetic for what is supposed to be the middle of “winter”.😡

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Hawick is currently around 10°C, something else which could easily just be copied and pasted from yesterday’s report.

Stunningly sunny up here on Dartmoor, after overnight ground frost. But a vast lake of fog, visible from a nearby hilltop, over mid and east Devon with only distant Exmoor poking out of it.

Cool and damp with a thick fog here for Boxing Day. Doesn't look like it will be shifting soon either. 6.4°C and a very high air pressure of 1037.7mb.

Met Office messed up again the temperature for Christmas Day and Boxing Day  today 26th only 6 in London and the press and other media outlets kept carping on about mild and 11-13 degrees yesterday got to 8 degrees for example

I notice now they have generally downgraded the temperatures for the rest of the month

7.3C. Cloudy, calm with the hungry heron (tame? God forbid) back sitting on the roof a few metres away as I type this. Clapping doesn't work to scare it off.

It cleared out one pond yesterday and 99% of goldfish fish in another.
