Intermittent gusty periods this morning, partly cloudy with some blustery, brief, showers. 3.5c now, it was 2c a couple of hours ago and extremely windy then too. A little respite before the gusts strengthen again later this afternoon.

Last night was a bit colder than the previous night but our frost-free horror show goes on as the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropped only to 2.1°C without even as much as a ground frost being recorded.😡

However, the wind has died down since yesterday and this morning has got off to a fairly bright and sunny start.

Currently around 3°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

I will shortly be travelling down to Hawick in the Scottish Borders to spend Christmas with my family but in the meantime, last night was fairly chilly here in Edinburgh but not all that cold as a ground frost was recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank but no actual air frost as the temperature there dropped only to 1.7°C there.

Now, it has clouded over and given the latest forecasts, I'm not expecting this trip to Hawick (I will be coming back home next Monday) to be anything other than frost-free as well as snow free.

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh is currently around 4°C and not even all that cold.😡

12.8C here, a bit of foehn going on in strong SW wind I see some PWS on the coast over 14C.

Around Whitby has been known to be warmest in UK this sort of flow.

An unexpectedly sunny afternoon, the forecast having been for heavy overcast all day long... MetO now has mist, while GFS has sunny spells as of its 6z run.

And as you'd expect, the sun's adding a little extra warmth too. It's pleasant, but not at all seasonal!

12.2, dew 11.3, and that's the high so far today.

Just been for a nice walk on the beach .. light breeze SSW max today 12.9c now down to 11.5c.

Some good sunny breaks with broken low cloud from time to time.

Currently in the Scottish Borders where today has been overcast but very mild and according to the Scottish and Highlands site, the highest temperature in the Borders was 15.1°C as recorded up in Galashiels.

Even when I was last down here back in the summer, there were days which didn’t feel any warmer than today.

Absolutely pathetic!!😡
