Recent rain has knocked the temperatures back a bit... currently 8.9, dew 7.0 with 0.4mm of rain so far today.

Before the rain, around 1PM, the sun was shining through the clouds, enough to cast weak shadows. The temperature rose to 10.7 as a result, still a fair bit below average but - as expected - making a mockery yet again of the 9C high forecast by both MetO and GFS.

EDIT: A long burst of sunshine has boosted temperatures up to 11.7, with a high so far of 12.1. A reminder that August-strength sun soon warms things up down here, even if the 850s are more like late January!

11c here in Constantine with a fair amount of cloud cover but still dry. We've been very lucky so far, weatherwise, this week. We had a five second sprinkle yesterday afternoon whilst meeting up at the beach, with family, other than that it's been dry, dusty and very warm in the sun.

Another beautiful day in Edinburgh, 13 C with mostly sunny skies all day. Up on the surrounding hills the bright yellow gorse contrasts with the bright blue sky and fresh greens

Partly cloudy, calm, 3.5 / dew 1.7 after a low of 2.6 earlier. (No frost visible, but there was a heavy dew).

The drier than average month continues here (as does the daily watering of plants), but there could be a spot or two of rain later.

Yesterday was our sunniest day of this year so far with a total of 11.8 hours of sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Today has started with a lot of cloud around but is becoming increasingly sunny over time which is a far cry from how this spring has gone so far overall.

I also strongly echo what others are saying about the ground drying very quickly because despite the fact that we've had over twice our average April rainfall during this month and despite the fact that we've already had more than our average spring rainfall during this spring, the ground is already brick hard and almost cracking up due to the much drier weather which we've had over the last week or so.

It therefore, wouldn't surprise me if the next drought and resulting comments on here about concerns of possible water shortages weren't all that far away.

Back on topic, last night wasn't all that warm but it wasn't as cold as the previous night when a ground frost was recorded.

Meanwhile, the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 5.6°C as at 7:30am BST (06:30 UTC) this morning.

Dull and is currently raining. 8.2 C & mid 80% H, winds has just become a mod SW breeze. Utter gash, as Matty used to say, but hopefully it might brighten up again soon if the satellite images are to be seen.

A sunny start in Edinburgh but showers are moving in and we just had small hail briefly. I should imagine a few places over 200m will see wintriness up here today

Warmer than the last few days, a high of 13.4 so far today with the odd bit of sun - it's become cloudy now and the temperature's fallen to 11.9.

This morning's rain band nicely split just as it was about to hit Sheppey so, as it's been dry again, I've been out with the watering cans. I reckon the end-of-month precipitation chart will show a dry anomaly right over Sheppey!

It's turned out to be another mostly sunny day in Edinburgh, the fourth in a row. It's freezing today though, only 7 C at 1600 😮 I've managed to sit out quite a bit but only in the most sheltered part of the garden!
