Have about 3cm of snow lying on ground which fell overnight.

Already starting to melt as now drizzling

Wasn't expecting snow in Wiltshire

Oh what a surprise, for the dogs anyway, woke up to around two and a half inches this morning, no longer snowing and thawing already underway so won't be around long.

I thought I'd edit this and add how I felt when I saw the snow, I didn't feel anything, for the first time in my life I didn't get at all excited, must be either getting too old or just fed up with seeing a little bit of slushy rubbish and nothing more.

This could really deliver for you if you like snow! Not much interest outside of NE scotland though!

WRF is showing that the airmass coming off the sea is genuinely  cold. On the immediate coast, rain yes, but even a bit inland will be enough I reckon particularly if the precip occurs at night.

Really envy those that live in NE scotland. This could be quite something. This is the snow only up to midnight Tuesday, when the Met warning only starts to become valid.

Rain changed over to snow surprisingly early today - around 4pm - and it has snowed steadily since then leaving 1-2cm on grass and cars but little or no accumulation on roads or pavements.

Just looking at the Cairngorm web cams and I'm a tad surprised at how high the snow level is. Basically, it looks as though there isn't much below Ptarmigan (800m) at the moment.

so much media scaremongering  ‘UK to be blanketed in snow in days’

Far too mild for that. Im in a favoured spot and hasn't been beneath 4dc in weeks.

Same with recent BBC graphics with swathes of white as if major snow event.

Total nonsense.

Was surprised to see that it was snowing a bit here first thing this morning. Nothing settling but snow falling. Aside from tonight where they may be more wintriness the next potentially wintry point seems to be around the start of April. I’d rather have the warmth of late March 2012, albeit not the summer that followed!

We need to potentially talk about a snow event on wednesday night into thursday morning affecting a narrow slice of the country from devon up through wales. Localized potentially very heavy snow. Could drop alot in a very short time while the rest of the UK is wondering what the fuss is about.
