BBC Automated has my area back up to 8c and showers by Fricay 16th so not looking like a long lived cold spell here seeing as it is yet to turn frosty.

Cold with freezing fog and outbreaks snow overnight, most likely for Kent and E. Sussex but also possible further north and west. Keep and eye on the latest forecast. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

That backs up what I was saying before about winter possibly being over by the end of this weekend because it is now looking increasingly likely that this will actually be the case before then.
