18.7c with no heating today.
Gas use for October 2022 stands at 30m2 compare to 98m2 last October. Warm weather, better insulation and a commitment to keeping the house at no more than 18c.

The internal warming trend continues with no central heating being used. No surprises really given overnight temperatures are around 16c and daytime afternoon temperatures are around 20c with sunshine.

As a result we are 20-21c at dawn

21-22c by evening.

Incredible.

Popped round to see my 80 year old parents earlier today. The golden generation who have had their generous heating allowances and have heat pumping out with the thermostat on 24c .

Today will be the last day of a remarkable week - by the looks of it the heating will be kicking in daily from tomorrow onwards. The heating would have come on for three more days but for the fact I leave early for work, so it detected I was away and lowered the thermostat accordingly.

It's currently 16.5C downstairs (as per the screenshot), 19C upstairs and 14C outside.

Dewpoints are around 14C both inside and out.

Just ticked up to 18C downstairs, the highest it's been for weeks. It'll be the last time it gets that high for several months, unless I turn up the thermostat!

22C upstairs and 17.4C outside.

21.6C yesterday down to 19.2 this morning. I'm out most of today so I'll certainly be able to remember 2022 as the year no heating was needed until November.

I don't put the heating on unless I feel cold rather than what the temps is inside.

Only had the heating on briefly this Autumn so far.

16 downstairs and 18 upstairs. The heating would come on normally, but it seems to know I'll soon be off to work so it's not worth bothering!

(When I'm not at home it's set to 14).

Heating on briefly this morning to heat up to 18c, where it has remained with sunshine and house activity.

Was reviewing gas usage from last year.

Biggest gas use day was Sunday 28th November 2021, a lovely and unexpected snowy Sunday where we were all at home, Max 0.1/Min -2.0c. But £15 of gas used in today's prices. So if we have an extended cold spell it will certainty be bittersweet. I cannot imagine how much it would cost if we had Dec 10 type temps.

A slow decline through the day. Outside its been windy, wet and increasingly cool.

This evening I've broken out the onesie.

Temps:

Hallway 18.1c, Dining room 18.3c, lounge 19.1c, bedroom (west facing upstairs) 18.7c.

We will be in the 17's tomorrow, perhaps 18c in the lounge.

Some afternoon sunshine may arrest the fall somewhat, we shall see.

Into the 16's !

Hallway 16.8c, Dining room 16.8c, lounge 17.9c, bedroom 18.8c.

We are all out at work and school today so it won't be needed until this evening. If no-one notices the chill this evening I'll leave the heating off. I rather suspect it will get switched for a bit though.
