18.3c hallway, 18.4c dining room, 18.8c lounge.

Yesterday evenings peaks were 20.1, 20.4c, 20.9c respectively.

A clear night with a general 1.8c loss of internal warmth. More unbroken sunshine today is expected. At this time of year to avoid the switch on its all about sunny days with light breezes and cloud overnight.

5pm peaks.

Hallway 19.3c, dining room 19.8c, lounge 20.2c, upstairs west facing bedroom 21.4c.

A slight decline today compared with yesterday due to the clear cold night last night.

An afternoon of unbroken sunshine through those west facing doors and windows lifted the internal temperatures by a valuable 1.5c. At noon before the sun moved round the house was in the marginal 18.1c-18.8c range.

We continue to rely on afternoon sunshine to avoid using the central heating. We've had a fantastic run of afternoon sunshine this month. I fear my luck will run out soon. Definitely Thursday.

15.6c inside without any heating.
As only me in the house working upstairs will probably leave it off until later.

Very similar to yesterday morning at this time.

The lack of sunshine yesterday afternoon was counter balanced by a cloudy and mild  14c night.

Yesterdays peaks were meagre. 18.3c hallway, 18.8c dining room, 19.8c lounge and 20.4c bedroom.

Very minimal reduction in temperature overnight leaves me with:

18.0c hallway, 18.4c dining room, 19.0c lounge and 20.2c in the bedroom.

Our 1936 built 3 bedroom semi is very well insulated thanks to wall and loft insulation. Until recently it was quite draughty, now that we've plugged a number of gaps overnight heat loss is minimal. Closing the curtains is a big factor that should not be understated.

No heating needed this month.

The mornings recently are typically 18.0c to 18.9c downstairs and 18.5 to 19.2c upstairs. Afternoon solar input is having less impact now but with evening peaks this week in the range 18.5-19.7c downstairs and 19.5 to 20.2c upstairs.

21 to 22c throughout. Heating on for the past 12 hours

Heating was needed. Not through temperature but by dampness. We noticed that by trapping all the warmth in we had also trapped in a lot of humidity rendering internal doors difficult to shut. Relative humidity was varying between 75-85% !

Lower this morning at around 70%.

Very, Philip.

What we need is a decent blowy day with humidity in the 40's and 50s with the the windows open to get rid of this internal dampness.

I'll happily live with internal temps of 18c if the environment is dry.
