Down to a more pleasant 20°C inside now with the windows open, thanks to the cooler weather outside. The 25°+ of a couple of days was very unpleasant.

25 to 26C so now surviving this lovely warmth while outside nasty cold and cloudy for 4 days.   Without the shutters it would be now 19 to 20 inside.

I failed to get the temperature below 20C last night, even with the patio fan trick and windows wide open.

17.9C outside (the low was 17.1, so a very warm night), 22C in the dining room, 20C in the living room, 23.9C already upstairs.

23 to 24C this morning before going to work in Slough so very pleased with the shutters had put the end of rapid cooling inside so more like less than 1C drop each day since the heatwave left and became cool to cold days lately.

Ambient temperature of the house now sits around 23.0 to 23.5c which is really nice.

We are chipping off about a degree a day at the moment though after the 30c peak last Tuesday evening.

Need some more 25c warmth outside to give us a top up.

Need Sept and October very warm prolonged spells especially Oct not see on over 25C since 2011 so that big help to keep house warm and heating off longer as they will hike the bills. Sept 1911 and Oct 1995 combined would be great one I wish with bonuses Nov 1994 and Dec 1988.

I'm off work for the next three days, two of which will have no power (as getting earth bonding installed has turned into a much bigger job, including a new consumer unit and lots of other stuff). My mission is to keep things as cool as possible.

It's now 19C outside, 22C downstairs and 23C upstairs - windows have been open for two and a half hours but it's not doing much.

Tonight is meant to be a fair bit cooler than of late (12C, potentially). I will be using the fan on patio trick to try and get some of that lovely colder air indoors early tomorrow - and as tomorrow and Thursday are relatively cool days, it should be very pleasant indoors.

In the last week it been stable at 22-25C range and this morning was the lowest at 22C and 23C when I got up but when I opened the shutters the rush of cold air trapped between the shutters and glass as outside low was 8C gave 1C drop upstairs but recovered when the sun shine inside to 23-25C.

Will see how the shutters keep warm inside when outside go down to 0C.

The last couple of days haven't been too bad as there's been a breeze - mid 20s upstairs, low 20s downstairs.

This morning is only 12C outside, so I'm doing all I can to get that lovely cool air indoors. It's working too, downstairs at least!

It's still 21.5C upstairs, mind you, even with the windows open all night!

26-28C now after reaching 28-30C today with windows fully open to 7pm but don't feel anything hot due to very dry air mass so feel like 22-24C indoors.  Was 24-25C yesterday with windows closed because I was away at work and with my house have insulation wall fitted outside does not allow warmth go inside that why I opened all the windows to allow heat in then trap them but my storage brick really like a oven when the sun gone the wall still emitting heat and hot to touch.

The heatwave is taking its toll here - well into the 30s upstairs when I got home yesterday and 27C downstairs. Not much wind, either, as the trees in the garden proved most effective at blocking it.

25C this morning, having had the windows open all night. (And with an 18C dewpoint, it feels ).

23.3c downstairs so fairly comfortable , around 26c upstairs.

Last night was a bit milder at 16.0c min, but previous nights have been 13-14c so that has enabled the house to be cooled first thing in the morning.

Another morning today, the patio fan trick only got it down to 22C in the living room and it's sticky as hell due to the high dewpoint (19.9C outside, 19.2C dewpoint).

26C upstairs and 25C here in the dining room.

Ambient temperature of the house now sits around 25.5c to 26.0c first thing in the morning.

Suffice to say we've now acclimatised to the warmer environment and although bedroom temperatures have been close to 28c most nights we've not used the fan this summer.

Thankfully a bit of coastal cloud and breeze have brought down the temperature indoor from around 28°C to a more pleasant but still warm 22°C.

Temp in my house upstairs is 26C rising to 33C about 2200hrs. new build with added insulation as the developer said it would keep the house cooler in summer. it has just made things worse .
