All over here, down to "just" 31.5C now.
Interesting data from my weather station though. You can see the classic cold front passage, with the change in temperature, wind and direction, and the sudden drop then rise in pressure:

Still rising intermittently in Pett Bottom, remarkably. 38.7C just now.

I don't think we'll get 40 here. Currently 36/37

What’s been astonishing today is the skies have been clear blue all day. None of the instability or cloud or even haze that you normally get on really hot days. Just unbroken sunshine from a light blue sky.

Doncaster airport also now showing 40C.
Heathrow now down to 38.7C so a new record holder will soon be announced I think.

Has anybody checked out the rain radar ? interesting front of rain South West into Wales, its now clouded up here in my part of Gloucestershire. Looks like the 2 day heatwave is over for the time being
Impressive heat for here and to make it even more impressive is it's only around 26C less than 3 miles away towards Southsea beach.

Yes it shocked me. I just went for a walk and can see smoke. There is a fire near RAF Northolt, think it must be a grass fire on the marshland nearby. I hope it's just that and nothing worse
There is indeed a huge fire at RAF Northolt currently being attended by the fire service

Reminds me of my airforce days reading that.
At a conservative estimate I would say two dozen stations are going to break the previous record. Actually make that three dozen. There has never been a day like today. The CET record is surely going to be smashed.
38.9C in Sheffield is just astonishing.
42.3c IMBY! Not screened though so it’ll be too high, but not by much as Doncaster is 40c.
