Beckton, E London
Less than 500m from the end of London City Airport runway.
Liverpool JL Airport currently reporting 35c
If confirmed, that would break the current Liverpool record of 34.5c set 02/08/1990.
And it's likely to rise further today...

I think it's got as high as it's going to get here now, as a bank of pesky cloud is moving over. Still, an extraordinary temperature for rural Lancashire. Let's see what tomorrow brings!

Lakenheath also 38C rounded. Actual reading is 37.6C at 4pm.
Was 36.5C at 1pm, the mercury was very ready to go to 37-38C but the clouds attacked and drop a lot to high 20's I think, and shocked to see the apps updated in the last minute to put rain showers at 27C 4pm then 35C at 7pm.

36C as far north as Humberside airport. Crazy.
37.7c here the highest I've ever recorded so far since living in the East Midlands.
We we hit 38c??

I think Cambridge might fall just short of the current record. I wonder if another place will get it today and lose it tomorrow 🤪

Time for one last surge of heat today? I notice Luton Airport as edged back up to 36C.
We're going to get very close to the record today somewhere!

Peaked at 38.5C here in S.Essex at 15.35pm, almost exactly the same time as the previous 2019 record. WHilst mine is not official it meets most of the criteria so I wouldn't be surprised if North Kent or Southern East Anglia top out. Last time Cambridge was 2C warmer than here.
Maybe I will break it again. Been fairly clear skies all day here.
Was it? I thought it was about 33°C for some reason.
Well, still an achievement either way.
