Yup that's right. He's actually complaining about it being sunny. And yet if it was dull & overcast he'd be moaning about 'permacast hell' and threatening to slit his wrists. He'll be complaining about it getting dark at night next.
Edinburgh hasn't been anything like as sunny as Aberdeen during this month, but I have just noticed that we only need a total of at 4.2 hours of sunshine during the last 5 days of this month in order for this month to go down as being sunnier than average overall at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
Prior to that, we have to go all the way back to last July to find our last sunnier than average month there. That is quite a run of duller than average months which we have had and unlike Richard from Aberdeen, I'm just happy to see that come to an end (albeit, I would rather see that happen during the summer rather than just now when the darker nights causes that to have its minimum effects on the overall sunshine totals for the entire year).
Apart from that though, I will just be glad to see the back of this complete non-event that is this so-called "winter".
It has been the most boring and uninteresting winter which I have ever experienced, but I have been saying for months on end, that we just don't get changeable wather any more like what we used to and what this winter has done is to add a lot more weight to that arguement to the extent that others are also picking up on that as well (the fact that YouTubers such as Gavin P. and Mark Vogan are commenting on how boring and unteresting our weather is, shows just bad that has become).
We are going into a more desert-like and arid climate where it hardly ever rains any more. In years to come, I can see that leading to a lot of drought and water shortages even here in Scotland and let's not forget as well that we have a Scottish Government which is being led by Nicola Sturgeon who would very happily impose a national hose-pipe ban across Scotland as a result, at the earliest possible opportunity.
In addition to that of course, there is the constant lack of any sort of weather which is actually the least bit interesting with our weather being increasingly defined only by cloud and sunshine amounts alone, and this so-called "winter" has brought that to new heights.
Apart from the shocking lack of frosts during this winter as a result of the temperatures constantly refusing to drop at nights in particular, we also haven't had even a single bit of lying snow and whilst that is partly down to the mild weather, it is also obvious that even if it was actually cold here, it is never going to snow if there isn't even anything falling out of the sky in the first place, which could potentially fall as snow as has been the case throughout this month in particular.
When you add all of that up, I have really had enough of this non-winter now.
Roll on spring (I have no doubt that all of the northern blocking which has been absent during this winter will return in time to give us a lot of torrential downpours and flash flooding events during the summer, just to show how typical our weather actually is).
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
